I love the Sandia Pro model. I use them on every audition and they are just great. The craftmanship is superb (whoever makes them must not have a life, because they are that great). My friends always ask me where I get my reeds, because they sound so good.
Sandia Pro model is awesome. It has a nice dark, clear tone and plays in tune – even in the high register. It’s on the harder side, but it never sounds edgy or gross. My teacher makes all her students play on Sandia pro – she plays on them too!
I used a couple of machine made medium soft reeds. They worked OK, but didn’t last long. Teacher scraped and trimmed one. That helped.
Professional model is superb in every respect. Unfortunately, they’re so good and so popular, only sold by subscription now. That leaves me out.
