Intermediate--Used 6-10 reedmakers--Plays most days--Buys but adjusts
Tip way too long. The cost of the reed does not equate to the quality at all. The reeds also leak badly. Maybe could be used as a sound effect, but definitely not in an oboe.
Advanced--Used 2-5 reedmakers--Plays most days--Buys but adjusts
send out bad reeds that crack and blame you for not being a good reed caretaker methods. therefore renigging on their established warranty that the give. they just send you elsewhere to find your reeds after you have paid them 30.00 for their reeds.
sr14225 February 22, 2010: Gary Armstrong Woodwinds What I meant was, I don’t think that Gary normally sells HIS reeds, at least that was the impression I got. I did find a couple of other reeds there the last time I went to the shop made by two professional oboe players. They...
crayolaawesome February 18, 2010: Gary Armstrong Woodwinds I’m sorry sr14225 but you seem woefully uninformed. Gary Armstrong Woodwinds carries a large assortment of handmade reeds from various makers around Ontario and they have been for the last decade.
stbradle February 16, 2010: SUGGESTION BOX Perhaps you could write a small review for beginners so that they would know what strength reeds to try before spending a whole lot of money. Thanks!
quuquui February 5, 2010: Jones Double Reed Products I recently started using Jones Medium reeds as a convenience. I must say that the last three have all been excellent right after a good soak. I’m only an intermediate player but I love the way they sound so far. I will continue...

Stephen,
Thank you for posting this here. It gives me the opportunity to explain how our guarantee works.
Yes we do guarantee our oboe reeds. You know that because you used the guarantee this past November to replace a reed that wasn’t working for you.
In that instance, you received your reeds and requested an exchange right away. Thank you.
However we do not guarantee reeds for weeks and months after the reeds have been received and played.
Perhaps you will find someone who will. Best of luck…

buzzy, bright, and thin sounding. long thin tips are responsive but no depth or warmth in the tone.

New page up for MKL reeds.
