A commenter states that these reeds are only available through Rush’s Music, in Knoxville, TN. However, there does not seem to be a link to the product on Rush’s site. The link remains above applies to a prior vendor, based in Georgia.

Advanced--Plays Most days--Used 6-10 reedmakers--Reedmaking: Buy and do not adjust
A band director told me about Lyn Davies reeds several years ago when I moved to Knoxville. I am a terrible reed maker (bassoon or oboe) so I need something that will play without adjustment. I have found these reeds to be excellent–in tune, good fairly dark tone, stable. I buy at the store, but I know Rush’s will mail to anywhere in the country. By the way, they also have one of the best double reed repairmen in the country, Bruce McCall. Well worth shipping your instrument to him if you want super repair work. You can call them at 865-573-4138.
Professional--Plays Weekly--Used 2-5 reedmakers--Reedmaking: Usually make my own reeds
These reeds are by far the best I have ever found! With my busy schedule, I don’t always have time to make reeds for students and Lyn Davies’ reeds are perfect. They have a rich, dark tone, with good stability and pitch. I was so glad to hear about the Rush vendor, as I have been trying to get them from Covey for 2 weeks now. Don’t know what’s going on, but am thrilled to have finally ordered these gems!! I highly recommend them for students, high school band directors, and have even used them for myself!

I use to order the teal colored reeds from Covey, but I would also order the lime green from Rush. The lime green seemed to work really well for 2nd oboe parts…Very impressed with them both!! Thank you for taking the time to make them!!!

Thanks for the nice feedback. My reeds are now sold by Rush’s Musical Services (865 573 4138). Please contact them for prompt service. My other vendor is temporarily closed for unknown reasons.
midnightkat August 18, 2010: Lisa Hudson Oboe Reeds I had ordered Lisa’s “The Doubler” Package (Professional), 2 oboe and 2 EH reeds with med strength and dark tone. I needed the reeds quick due to a tour date and got them in time, I did pay extra for the expedited order,...
Paul Hartl August 14, 2010: Stuart Dunkel Some good ones, but I have not seen much consistency from those that I have received from Dunkel in the last year – too many, more than half – have been junk.
Paul Hartl August 14, 2010: ReedMonster I ordered 3 sets of 3 over a year’s time. 2 were great performance reeds with nice dark tone, excellent pitch stability, and ease of playing. 3 were practically unplayable (very, very light) garbage, and the other 4 were pretty good...
Paul Hartl August 14, 2010: American Oboe Reed Company I ordered 3 professional reeds and got 4! All are easy to play with excellent response, particularly in the low register. Very consistent from reed to reed with a very finished look and feel. One major complaint – they all play...
midnightkat August 10, 2010: Reed Daddy My thoughts on these reeds. I ordered 3 “Principal Oboe Reeds” and did not care for any of them. I’ve been playing for about 16 years and found that they were too resistant and did not have the dynamic range I am used to with my reeds....
