Advanced--Plays Most days--Used More than 10 reedmakers--Reedmaking: Usually make my own reeds
I have tried many (10 or so) reed companies and I cannot believe well these reeds play. I am a “semi”-pro player/advanced player who makes her own reeds; however, when I need to buy reeds these are my go-to. The sound, for me, is a deep/covered “woody” sound. Not quacky at all and not so dark as to be muted or lost. I am truly amazed at the ranged I am able to play, low Bb all the way up to high G. Great dynamic range as well. of the 7 total I have bought thus far, only one was a bit off: 6 out of 7 aint bad folks! I currently have another order or 5 coming soon as well as an English horn reed.
Advanced--Plays Most days--Used 2-5 reedmakers--Reedmaking: Buy but adjust
I used Infiniti reeds for a couple of years and never had a complaint about them. Angela has great customer service and has always pulled through for me if i’m in a time crunch and need a reed quick. Seriously, she’s a lifesaver. As for her reeds, they are the most consistent I’ve ever used. My private instructor constantly disappointed, so after about a year trying new ones, I went back to Infiniti and my frustration at the oboe reed dissolved. It’s so relieving to be able to pull a reed from the box and it to play in tune in all registers, respond nicely and also have a nice (not buzzy), dark tone. These are dependable reeds, they aren’t hit or miss like most other reed makers, and the price is nice too–only three dollars for shipping! These reeds will not disappoint you and definately get the job done.
Advanced--Plays Monthly--Used 6-10 reedmakers--Reedmaking: Buy and do not adjust
I am first and foremost a bouzouki player, but got myself into college with the oboe (let’s face it, bouzouki scholarships are hard to come by!). As a prodigal oboist, returning once more to use the oboe in a creative studio setting, I can honestly say that Ms. Schindler’s reeds not only make me sound as though I’ve kept my chops up, but the variety of tones and textures I can coax out of these beauties is sublime. I used Infiniti reeds exclusively on my latest CD, “On Better Paths,” which is nominated for a 2010 Grammy (category #69: Best Contemporary Folk Album). Angela is a stellar musician who is very attuned to what her peers need…major kudos to a gifted reed-maker who helped to make this possible!
D Cushman May 10, 2012: Tabby Toes Reeds The web address of this maker has changed to http://sites.google.com/site/t abbytoesreeds/home The new site has a lengthy biographical sketch but nothing else other than a PayPal ordering link.
Stefan Glave May 2, 2012: SUGGESTION BOX Reed Indeed a small swedish new company specialising in handmade oboe reeds. It’s provides high-quality oboe reeds to professionals and students, who don´t want to worry about their reeds, or don´t have the time, patience or competence to make...
geekygeek April 28, 2012: Jones Double Reed Products Joboe, you’re doing so many things wrong. First, you should never use a reed for more than a month, for 2 months? Wow. Reeds won’t crack on the sides unless you play them dry or squeeze them to get their openings larger. Never...
joboe April 14, 2012: Jones Double Reed Products Two Jones reeds (med-soft) came with my oboe. One was great and I played with it for about 1-2 months before it cracked on the sides. The other reed was too open – I could not get a good sound out of it at all, even after soaking it for...
ryancwalsh April 5, 2012: Reeds In Case After reading Jade_Sixx’s comment, I thought I should mention that ReedsInCase reeds are guaranteed and if they aren’t quite to your liking, I will do everything in my power to get you a reed that you like! Just email me and let me know, and...
oboejane April 5, 2012: Reeds In Case I ordered 2 oboe reeds and 1 EH reed from reedsincase. They arrived about a week after I ordered them. I was really excited when I opened them up, because they look just like the photos on the website! And I must say, they exceeded my expectations! The...

Disappointing reeds – do not provide a focused stable sound.
